difference between standard and pro

Nov 10 04 4:51 am

I don't understand why you need to buy the pro version if you want to add more than 12 users. Why can't you just buy more licenses with the standard?

I am currently testing wingate with the 30 day trial license but I don't see the need for the pro version in my company.

if anybody could help me out as to why you need the pro version in order to have more than 12 users I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

You don't think you'll need any of these features?

Remote GateKeeper access Professional license or better, any version

Telnet proxy command shell Professional license or better, any version

Remote database / Domain controller or Active directory access WinGate 6.0 Professional or Enterprise

* Remote command shell (cmd.exe through GateKeeper) WinGate 6.0 Professional or Enterprise

WWW Proxy support for NTLM authentication WinGate 6.0 Professional or Enterprise

* Bandwidth control WinGate 6.0 Professional or Enterprise
DMZ WinGate 6.0 Professional or Enterprise

With more than 12 users my bet is you'll need the pro version more than you think.

features aside

Aside from the added features, can I purchase the standard and add more than 12 users? Has anybody done it?

I just want to know what my options are. I am still getting to know the software but I would like to know if I can add more users with the standard.

thanks.

Hi,

How many users do you need? You can purchase a 12 and a 6 user license, they will have a cummulative effect so you would end up with an 18 user license. Will this be sufficient?

Regards,

Matt

thank you

Thanks Matt, that's what I wanted to know. So I guess I could also purchase two 12 user license package and end up with 12.

Thanks again.

12 + 12 = 12

They've got strange math in Texas.
