No internet after uninstalling wingate.

Apr 07 05 8:27 pm

After uninstalling wingate client on a win98se it can no longer connect to the internet (adsl modem) or what used to be the wingate server. It has no problems connecting to other computers on the LAN. And a XPsp2 computer can connect to the internet and other resorces, but not the ex wingate server. Does wingate leave setting that for instance block an MAC adress? I have changes computernames and IP adresses, so this is the only thing I can think of. But I have no idea how to sort this out.

No, normally finished uninstall process removes QBIK driver from the system, so no blocking can occur.

Hmm in the dark dim days of working with that legacy o/s I have recalled similar.

Can the client ping the server?

Now entirely from probably unreliable memory, try remove / re install TCP/IP and all network adaptors.
