Wingate Forum website Hacked?????

Hi All,

I noticed that somewhere in late March2005 the Wingate forum website cannot be accesed. Also, I received an email similar to a notification when somebody makes a reply to a particular subject in a forum but the body/contents of the email just says"wingate forum HACKED by.{i forgot the name}.....".

Unfortunately, I deleted the email. Can anybody explain what happened...

Yes, this forum was broken into - the attacker used a security hole in the software that serves this forum.

ok. I hope that this security hole is not related to Wingate Firewall since I have always recommended Wingate to my friends in IT and to some of our Plants/Locations.

Nope, it was phpBB hole which was fixed in the latest version.
