Mail Error 553

Hi

People that send mail to me using gmail always received the same return mail :

Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently:

* xxx@amancey.com

553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts

Any idea ? How can they (or can I) fix it ?

that's not an error that WinGate mail server generates, so this must be from another mail server that the mail is being forwarding to. can you get hold of the whole message, to try and find out where the mail is going to?

From the log below though it looks like WinGate is accepting mail for that domain from external. There are 2 mail servers for the domain though. Is your WinGate accepting mail from externally for this domain?

When I do a MX lookup for that domain, I get 2 IPs, mxav2.amancey.com and mxav1.amancey.com. Both have the same MX priority, so they will be used interchangeably by external clients.

when I connect to mxav1, I get

When I connect to mxav2 I get the same. Neither of these are WinGate servers.

I'm picking these servers are doing some sort of validation on inbound mail (possibly using an RBL) and blocking mail for you. In a normal inbound mail for you, do you see evidence of these servers in the Received: headers?

p.s. 62.193.206.45 looks like another server than

mxav1.amancey.com [62.193.206.39]
mxav2.amancey.com [62.193.206.40]

but on the same subnet. I'd say most likely somewhere at amen.fr is blocking your incoming mail, particularly from gmail.

Hi

I think the problem comes from a bad configuration of my DNS zone.
The mx2 was not correct so I just removed it.
Everything seems to be ok now. Wait and see..
