FTP Connect to Server with logon

Jun 15 05 1:57 am

We have a customer how allows us to connect to his FTP-Server, but we have to logon with user and password.

we are using Wingate 6.0.4 Buil 1025; we do not use the WINGATE client.

IE 6.0....
Proxy Server is all the same and the same port.

If we conect to FTP-Server with anonymous login everythink is o.k.

If we want to connect to the server of the customer we get :
"Socket Error

Connection to Remote Host timed out "
the url is ftp://<account>:<password>@ftp.ocl.nl

If we use the URL without the password we get:
"Anonymous Access Denied

Anonymous Access Denied "
Without wingate we are able to access this server!

Sorry for my bad english!

Hi Dagmar

For using a web browser for FTP access through a proxy, usually a better way to get FTP working is through SOCKS.

To do this, you edit the proxy configuration for Internet Explorer, and have entries for HTTP, and SOCK only (i.e. remove the one for FTP). Then IE will use SOCKS for FTP, and it works a lot better.

Thanks for the replay, but the result is still the same.

If I connect with the program "Total Commander" with transparent mode and the FTP-Port: Everything works. But we have different user how want to access this customer. So I want the explorer to connect.
