identify the users and abusers

hello. I have wingate 6.0.4 for 12 users. i need your help on this..how can i know who is spending more traffic and who is watching TV on the internet?? some people always watcing tv and earing radio and i cant block themm..thanks :)

Hi,

If you want to see the usernames in the activity pane you will need to use assumptions or authentication. You can then see which user is connecting to which service.

thanks. i allready made some discovers: i put all the users assumed by i.p.adress and now i see their names..the problem is that is hard to be a policeman with your own co-workers and some of them are friends but they lesson to radio on their work..they watch TV...they make downloads..etc..and the traffic band in Portugal only give us 4GB of internaticional traffic....the rest is 1euro for 100mb plus... iam watching them sometimes and when they are on a site I RIGHT CLICK the site and choose "Ban server www....etc....com" and it works and that goes to the policies of proxy server port 80 at the Ban list..THERE i can put some adresses manualy but doesnt work so good.....i even disciver the AUDIT file were i can see the historic of a person with sites and traffic..but what is the best way to control theese people in a more general way...limit traffic...limit downloads...thanks very much :) 1 more: whats is Black hole this i.p.?? the user is shut down???

As an alternative you can use bandwidth throttling to throttle down users' traffic or use NetPatrol to automatically lock out users who initiate traffic with the certain pattern.
