Hi,
There was a problem with the smtp gateway and a bunch of mail has ended up in the dead directory.
How do you move these so they can be delivered?
Thanks
Joan

I have found that if you have the .msg and a corresponding .rcp file (both with same name), you can move them both to the 'posting' folder where they will be distributed. OR Simply view the .msg file with notepad and, if you can see the intended recipients name, move the file directly to their mailbox.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping there was a way to have the messages resent as the customer isn't using the WinGate mailserver for POP accounts and the mail must be sent to their MDaemon mailserver.

Hi,
A qbik assistant might help you better, my first suggestion, moving the .msg and .rcp does provoke Wingate to redistribute the mail to local mailboxes, I'd imagine it might also get them reprocessed and sent again.

Pete

Hi Joan
Chuck the files into the incoming, or postin folder and they will be re-delivered, whether that is remote or local. Basically mail path is
a) mail is received, put in "Incoming"
b) mail is scanned (if AV installed), moved to "postin"
c) mail is routed for delivery. New RCP files if necessary created in domains directory, and MSG file goes to "holding" directory.
Cheers
Adrien
