Problem with Streaming Media

Jul 27 05 3:39 pm

Hi guys I have problems accessing streaming media particularly when using Windows Media Player either embedded or direct request. I connect using both NAT and WWW Proxy, if I disable WWW Proxy there is no problem accessing streaming media but if I turn WWW Proxy back on ovbiously for site management and plugins that is the time I can not connect. I found a topic which discussed streaming media in the forum and tried to use the reg file which is used to automatically create the proxy for streaming media but still the problem persists. I don't want to turn off WWW Proxy because plugins may not work and browsing is faster when it is turned on. Please share your solutions.

1. When you tried the reg file to create the WMP Proxy Service, did you disable KAV scanning in the plugin section?
2. Have you also tried using the RTSP proxy?
3. What hardware specs is your WinGate server?

1. KAV is not installed.
2. Yes, I tried RTSP proxy but the result is still the same.
3. My current hardware specs are: Pentium III 850 MHZ Acer Altos 600 Server, 256 MB RAM, Windows XP SP2, 3COM & CNET LAN CARDS.

Hi guys are there new developments regarding my problem? I am quite sure that somehow port 80 is intercepting my streaming media if used via http thereby slowing it down or disabling it?; I don't know. As what I have said earlier if I use normal internet meaning port 80 is not intercepted by WWW Proxy Server, streaming media works but if I use port interception via port 80 it doesn't work. I tried to use the patch mentioned for streaming media but are there other settings required to do in the client computer, let's say via windows media player?

Hmmm, I guess people at QBIK don't know the answer or even solution to this problem with streaming media. Your NAT server is great and fast but your WWW Proxy and RTSP Proxy sucks! I hope you can fix this. I've tried this with other machines and the results is still the same.
