Major E-mail Problem

Hi,

My Wingate system has been running happily for many months.

Wingate acts as a mail relay to an Exchange Server - again all has been well for a long time.

Suddenly all incoming mail is failing to be accepted by Wingate - Log Entries read:

07/27/05 09:53:28 xxx.xxx.xxx.xx Guest 0000000381 Error: Caught unhandled exception in Initialising SMTP receive session
07/27/05 09:53:28 xxx.xxx.xxx.xx Guest 0000000381 Error: Client closed connection unexpectedly expecting HELO - terminating
07/27/05 09:53:28 xxx.xxx.xxx.xx Guest 0000000381 Traffic 0 0 0 0 0s
07/27/05 09:53:28 xxx.xxx.xxx.xx Guest 0000000381 Terminated exit code 1

The xxx's are in reality the IP address of the sender.

Nothing is coming in at all - internally the Exchange Server is working, and all outgoing mail is being delivered.

Nothing has changed on my configuration.

Please help - this is a huge problem for me.

Understood Mike & Hi, from inland Australia, now I can't help with this but, just jot down:

Version of O/s / AD in use
Version of Wingate

So the guys at Qbik can help out when online around 18:00GMT or so.

Windows XP SP2 (Firewall Disabled)
Wingate 6.0.4 (Build 1025)

Router not Wingate fault.

We have another user on the forum with the same error; I am currently investigating. What was the problem with your router?
