Client connection drops...

Aug 17 05 10:40 am

Hi,
I'm using WinGate (newest version) on my server machine. There are 4 Clients connected through ethernet with that server. Accessing the Internet on the Clients works, but there is one problem. Some connections to the clients randomly drop, for example ICQ. Sometimes ICQ runs for half an hour, but sometimes ICQ has disconnetions every 5 minutes.
Another example is the game Guild Wars, here also the disconnections appear randomly, but just every hour or so.
Also large downloads don't work without using a download manager, because the connections drops while downloading.

I don't know what the problem is, before I used a shareware version of another routing software and there were no problems.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem ?
I've already searched through the forums, but didn't find anything related to this topic, that helps my solving this problem.

Thanks for your help.

1. How do you connect to the WinGate server? NAT / Proxy / WinGate Internet Client (WGIC) ?
2. Do you use an authentication method? Java / NTLM / Basic / Assumed?
3. How is the WinGate server connected to the internet? Modem / Router
4. If you do not use NAT, I will recommend. please give me your ipconfig of the WinGate server.
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> cmd --> ipconfig /all >> c:\ipserver.txt
Once you have run that command, please navigate to the file C:\ipserver.txt and copy then paste it into this forum post. If there are any public IP addresses listed, please put a random X into it to mask it.

I'm not an expert concerning this topic, and my brother usually configures such things, so I'm not really sure what you everything you wrote means :), but I know that NAT is enabled.
The Server is connected to an ADSL Modem over an ethernet card.

If you want to know more details please ask, then I will look how the WinGate Server is configured (and please tell me where exactly I can find the information in WinGate)

Can you please make a support ticket http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_a=tickets&_m=submit and try to send us the following to see if there is an obvious problem; you may want to zip them up.
a) Configuration Report
b) WinGate Registry
c) An ipconfig/all

* Config report:
(Windows) Start menu --> Programs --> WinGate --> GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Report
* WinGate Registry:
(Windows) Start menu --> Programs --> WinGate --> GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Registry Settings
* ipconfig/all:
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> cmd --> ipconfig/all >> c:\ipa.txt
Then navigate to C:\ and get the ipa.txt file
