Windows Meda Center cannot download program guide

May 30 08 4:13 am

I have Windows Vista with Windows Media Center. There is a feature of downloading a TV programming guide that is having problems with Wingate. If I try to download the programming guide using Wingate (inside the firewall), then it does not work. If I move the computer before Wingate (directly to the internet), it works. I noted the DNS for the computer when I was connected to the internet directly and made those settings once I move the computer back inside the firewall and tried using that and it did not help either. What are the steps to diagnose why it cannot connect?

Do you have any firewall hits when the connection fails? data.tvdownload.microsoft.com

How are you connecting, as a client or on the Wingate machine itself?

If a client try configuring the pc to use NAT // direct connection, is that any better?

I responded to your question in this thread viewtopic.php?f=12&t=39583 (Connection Timout - Win MCE). Both threads are about the same issue, sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for your help.
