SAP GUI MAPING

May 31 08 9:37 pm

Hi guys,
Today i have a new topic which is a nail biting for me. I have Wingate proxy server for my clients. Few of them have got SAP GUI frontend installed on their pcs, now i dont know how to map them through wingate proxy. As far as i know sap gui needs sap router to route through proxy on port 3299. But using tcp maping service with sap dosent work.

Please let me know how to map sap gui through wingate & if i need sap router how do i get it??
I tried to download saprouter on some sites but as soon as i hit the site it demand usernae & pass.

Hi,

Can you use NAT [direct connection from client?].

I have many SAP clients no problem through Wingate.

Yes I have been using ICS for my clients which is working for sap to connect. But the problem is that, there is no proxy . I want clients in my office to be in proxy, so they are banned to some sites. But using ics Is allowing them to access anything .

And please tell me about how to configure NAT service when my server is XP pro.

What you could do is to leave SAP as it is via ICS and configure the browser to use Proxy.

Install Wingate as the gateway server and on each client browser configuration to point to the address and port used for the WWW proxy in Wingate eg: 192.168.0.1:80 should do.
