Hi,
I have just updated to 6.5. Everthing goes well except now every 5 min. I am getting disconnected from wingate pc. Disconnected means our sap systems reports us a network problem. When I disable firewall it become stable but I do not wanna disable firewall.
Any idea to fix this?

Addition to my problem is that disabling firewall not helps. With or without firewall I still have the problem. Every 5-6 min. I am disconnected from wingate pc. Any running software from wingate pc terminates.
Urgent !...

what do you mean by "Disconnected from the WinGate PC"
Do you mean you are running remote desktop and that disconnects?
Or some other connected application gets disconnected?
Or does the system reboot?
Or something else?

sorry - missed the SAP reference.
Sounds like the connection is being closed due to inactivity.
If you know the port it connects to the WinGate machine on, you can override timeouts on that port by using a port security setting.
edit Extended Networking, go to Port Security, select "LAN connections to the WinGate PC", create a new entry on the port, select allow, and choose override timeouts to specify never to time out.

Hi Adrien,
Well I tried all but not helped. So I installed 6.2.2. again and solve the problem. Let me explain problems again;
1. When I installed the 6.5 version to our server it drops lan packets time to time. I have no problem like this at 6.2.2. version.
2. After I installed 6.5 I have noticed that I cannot control extended network policies. I mean without log in to gatekeeper users can access skype or other chat program but not web or mails. This was also not issue on previous version.
3. I install 6.2.2. to our server and to my laptop I installed 6.5 as I use vista and waited a lot to re-use VPN. It worked but here I go again now I am dropping from server every 2-3 min for a short time. But I need to log in every software I use at server.

Hi
when you say it drops packets, are you seeing this in a packet capture or something?
Just wondering if you are using packet capturing we could possibly see if the connections were being closed by the WinGate driver or not (uses a specific IP ID field if so).
What OS are you running the server on?
We did a lot of testing with VPN and Vista and other OSes and never saw the disconnect issue. Is there anything logged to the VPN log file on the client or the server that could be a clue as to why the disconnection?

Hi Adrien,
Well I do not disconnect from gatekeeper nor any VPN. That is ok ! Please run windows remeote desktop to wingate pc. IF you wait about 4-5 min you will see that your connection will be disturbed and disconnected. If I stop wingate engine that does not happen. So I use a lot of software which we run from server all get disconnected with in 4-5 minutes.
Also what do you think about NAT. We use system policies as asuming users. It works great on 6.2.2. but on 6.5 all guest users no matter what they can override the security of system polices.

Regards the policy issue, do the NAT connections show up in GateKeeper correctly?
We didn't touch any code in the engine relating to that, so the only way I could see it change would be if the driver didn't report connections the same way.
I can't see any evidence of that either...

P.s I just also confirmed IP assumptions still work for NAT connections as well.

OK, we just went through using System policy, and IP assumptions on NAT traffic with 6.5.
It all worked as expected. So, wondering what special settings you may have that give you a different experience.
If you can open up a support ticket at
http://support.qbik.com, and we can get some more information off you (e.g. WinGate registry etc) to progress this.

we found an issue with initialisations of timeouts in the case of inbound connections to the WinGate machine. This affects the VPN control channel, as well as probably your SAP connections.
We've got another driver if you'd like to try to verify that it fixes the problem. Looks promising in testing here.
Just let me know the OS you are running WinGate on if you'd like to try it.

Is this driver issue on the v6.5 true for all?
may I suggest putting on a download section so everyone can download it without asking it to be sent through email?
