Wingate 6.6.4 Installation Problem

May 24 10 9:32 am

I am trying to install the latest Wingate download, and it is experiencing a problem when I attempt to install.

It seems to get pretty much all the way thru the installation process (and the executables appear to be runnable), but it pops up the following error:

Code:
Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\....\Windows\Sysnative\netcfg.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly

I am logged on as an administrator. It's a Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit machine. My license key authenticates with QBIK fine.

In arriving at that popup I am not requested for typing the name. There's an OK button and nothing else to choose at this point, so I click OK, it goes back to the 'Copying Low level driver' progress bar dialog (that is stuck on the file 'qbokhk2k.sys' and 92% complete when the above popup appears). This takes me to another popup:

Code:
Could not execute the external program C:\Users\....\WINDOWS\Sysnative\netcfg.exe

Click OK on that one and the installation process dumps out with no further information presented.

Hi

the installer tries to execute the netcfg.exe from the windows folder. To do this, it asks the OS for the windows folder, appends Sysnative to it to get the folder.

It looks like the OS for some reason is returning a user data folder (c:\Users...) rather than the actual windows folder.

That to me indicates either some issue with the windows install, or the user that's logged in. Have you tried logging in as Administrator itself?
