Bypass Proxy for Certain Sites

Jun 23 11 1:45 am

Hi All

I am testing Wingate 6.6.4

I have setup POP3 Proxy servers and SMTP Proxy servers and WWW Proxy server to limit the internet usage on my network.

But how do I setup a "Bypass List" for certain sites? I want to access them not throu any Proxy server.

Thanks
Hendrik

Hi

is this certain sites just for WWW, or also the other protocols?

If for WWW, you can use a proxy auto config file to specify that some sites are connected to directly. For this you'll need to get proxy auto-detection working on your network. Our help file should explain how to do that.

Hi

The reason for this is because we have 2 applications that don't use proxy settings.
And they need direct internet access. But they connect to a single web address.

Here are my setup.
Internal PC(WinXP) -> Wingate (Win2003) -> Router(ADSL) -> WWW

Thanks for the help.

Thanks

Hi

if they are both using ports other than 80, then normally they won't be intercepted by a proxy in WinGate, and would just use NAT to connect as if directly.

There should be no problem with multiple clients connecting this way to the same remote server and port.
