Hi Neil
Every separate IP that connects to WinGate constitutes a user. There are some exceptions
* any connections from the WinGate computer itself (whether loopback or LAN card address) are excluded
* any connections from WinGate Management are excluded
* any control connections from the WinGate Client are excluded (but not the actual redirected data connections). This is so idle clients that maintain control connection do not continue to consume a license count.
* DNS and DHCP is excluded. This is so your network doesn't break when you go over your user count.
In addition to this, if you are using the multi-user IP credential rules, then every separate user context will use a license. This is so the scenario where 1 terminal server with 100 users on it doesn't just show as 1 license count.
We use the word "user" because there isn't really a better one, but it's more like device for most cases.
