I have set wingate up to authenticate users based on machine mac addresses and then a policy checks each authenticated request against a half dozen different groups with different permissions. There are currently close to 100 machines. That is all working okay. Now looking at allowing/restricting cell phones this will more than double that number. I was just curious what is considered a lot for wingate to have to process at the speed of packets. I understand the power of the machine is going to be the biggest factor I was going to record cpu/memory over time to see how much peak usage periods impact the system but I haven't got that going yet. The computer is pretty good (xeon x3450 2.67ghz, 64bit, 8gbmemory, gb nics) I was just wondering if there was an estimation of how much traffic wingate can reasonably be expected to be able to process.

Hi
that xeon should be able to handle in the many hundreds of users. You're more likely to find the bottleneck is in WAN bandwidth.
