Java Auth with latest Sun JRE

I have an existing Wingate 6.0.3 installation where the users are authenticating by means of the Java Pop-up console

all is well except for the users that have been upgraded to the latest Sun JRE j2re1_4_2_03-windows-i386-p

on these machines the Java console pops up when they try to access the www proxy server but it remains completly blank and does not display a login or password field


all users are on XP Pro or win 98

Any help greatly apreciated

I don't have that version so can't really comment on your issue; I am not too sure about j2re.

But with regards to jre, I can say the latest version of Java is Version 5, update 5; aka. jre-1_5_0_05-windows-i586-p.exe from Java.com; works fine here.
