Well done

Hi Qbik team. now running the 6.1 + AV 2.0 version for >24h everything works fine and seems to be stable.

IMAP also works with OE. Outlook XP seems to have some problems (was working with Mercury). I will try Outlook 2003 later.

What I think is still missing is a spam filter. Now we have IMAP and therfor it should be no problem to implement some filtering routines moving the spam to another directory (simplest way would be a filter based keywords (Cialis, sex, viagra,....) and reply-adresses.

ciao

Hi Olaf, thanks for your feedback

I tested IMAP4 with

* Eudora 6.2.1
* Outlook Express 6
* Outlook Express on XP
* Outlook 2002
* Thunderbird 1.0.6 and 1.0.7
* Squirrelmail (PHP-based webmail client)

and several others were tested with in our test lab.

What problems are you seeing with Outlook XP? I have to say for mail I find Outlook to be very difficult to use (cumbersome for simple tasts, and a real pain when it comes to attachments) compared to outlook XP, or Thunderbird or Eudora, although the current version of Eudora does not have very good IMAP support (actually pretty awful, it corrupts messages, and doesn't respond in real time to updates - that's why I wrote the "clean messages appended by eudora" function, so I could get my messages into a form viewable by other email clients).

the spam filter built into Thunderbird works really really well.

But we are also investigating spam filters for a plugin for WinGate.

Outlook XP==Outlook 2002?
The problem is that moving Mails from local to inbox and other way round takes ages (>5min for on mail). And if you open you inbox the hourglass at the status line stays there forever. Changing the flolder and go back to the inbox it disappears immediately. Permanetly deleting mails also takes ages.

All of the above operations works fine with OE.....

Just a second ago I tried another machine with Outllok XP and there also everything works fine. So it seems to be related to my installation... Forget my submitted problems seems to be local ones. THX
