hi,

im just joining this forum.
my first question is how to retrieving gmail account from my Outlook express?
im running internet behind wingate server 6.0
as you know, gmail pop3 is running at port 995, how to setting at gatekeeper?

If you are using NAT, then no specific configuration is required.

already setting NAT as per your instruction..
how about setting at Outlook Express client?

just simply explain to me, setting at gatekeeper and the wingate client..

Again, nothing special should be configured on Wingate side if you are using NAT - simply point your Outlook Express to use POP3, POP3 server: pop.gmail.com, SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com, tick checkbox "My server requires authentication" and enter the authentication details in the "Settings" dialog. On Advanced tab use SMTP Port 465, POP3 port 995 and tick "SSL connection" checkboxes. That's pretty much it.

im not install 'wingate client server'..
at the Outlook express, im pointing to wingate server (IP 192.168.0.1) for POP3 server and SMTP server..

Oh, you want to use Wingate to collect GMAIL email?

If you add Collection entry with POP3 server set to pop.gmail.com (see above for other settings) it will happily fetch gmail messages and deliver them to the dedicated accounts.

yap, i think its not possible if i setting pop server with pop.gmail.com, because the pc is not 'directly' connect to wingate..
here, we are use 3 ISP (leased line), 2 ISP is using router, and the rest use pc as wingate server.
for example: if want to use internet by wingate, im just pointing the proxy setting to wingate server (192.168.0.1), and if use another ISP i left blank the proxy setting.

for another email account which use pop port 110, its doesnt matter if i put pop server and smtp server with '192.168.0.1'..
but how if use port 995 like gmail?

You don't have to use port 995 to connect to Wingate - you can fetch gmail.com messages and have Wingate forwarded them to the specified accounts or to the local user account.
