Cannot use for email

Jan 02 06 1:10 pm

Hello. I'm using Wingate 5.2.3 and everything works OK except for two things.
The most important is that I can't check my POP3 email account when I connect through my sister's computer, which is the one connected to the Internet. Internet Explorer and every other program that uses Internet is configured correctly and works perfectly, but when I try to download my e-mails using Outlook Express, I can't. Does it have something to do with port 110? There is no firewall in my sister's computer.
The other thing, less important, is that I have like a 6 seconds lag when using MSN Messenger. This does not happen if I connect directly to the Internet. Any explanation for this?
And last question but less important, if it is easy to answer: which is the difference between HTTP proxy, socks 4 and 5?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi ashman, try this post
http://forums.qbik.com/viewtopic.php?t=4169 for a way to configure your email client.

Try upgrading Wingate to V6.1.1, well worth the effort and your key will provide the same features in the new version.

Good luck with the other questions as I cannot help there.
