Wingate DNS

Nov 18 03 9:58 pm

I am trying (unsuccessfully) to send SMTP mail directly from my Wingate machine.

I have port 25 open, and the default DNS/DHCP settings, but when I send an internet bound message, I get the error
domain has refused the connection
If I stop the SMTP service and use VPOP3 as my email server, it comes up with the message
cant create socket [%ld]
when trying to send mail.

My wingate server has 2 LAN cards, one with the fixed internal IP of 192.168.1.48

and the other assigned by my ISP (ADSL) with a fixed IP address.

Mail is being delivered in OK via MX records, just not out.

The machine is W2K SP4

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Graeme

My apologies.

I rebooted the machine (for the umpteenth time) and it now works.

I will now go and find a course on DNS to make my life easier!
