How do I play Counter Strike 1.6 over wingate?

Feb 06 06 8:51 pm

Hello!

At home i have 2 PC's...One is directly connected to ISP and has wingate 6 on it, and the other PC has internet from the first PC using wingate client!Everithing works OK except CS 1.6...I cannot see any server so I cannot play :( ... Recently I'va mapped on wingate server a UDP port to go directly to the game server that runs on the isp server and that worked..now i'm able to play CS but only on that server...I can't play on another server...I've tried mapping another server on Wingate but that didn't work! Please Help me!

Hi,

As a thought from someone who knows '0' about CS, try uninstalling WGIC on the client pc and configure it to connect as a direct connection to the internet.

That way NAT will handle your requests and possibly pass the traffic you need to the host server.

Also a point to check is the adapter setting as in this post: http://forums.qbik.com/viewtopic.php?t=2834 and that there is no Syslog messages from Authentication errors due to system policies in place.

Report back and someone will help further.

I'm not shure that the client PC will connect to cs server without the wingate client installed...I will try this tonight and i will tell you...but I thing it won't work...

This is a guide for Netware but it does give the ports needed to be opened and insight into mapping to the client PC. Maybe you can use this as a guide. Hope it helps.
