After upgrading to Wingate 5.1, the network is gone!

Nov 19 03 9:00 am

Hello Qbik support staff!!

I was using Wingate 5.07, and everything was working fine (network, connection sharing, NAT, etc...), until I decided to upgrade for Wingate 5.1 ... Everything was over then! I can't even ping the machines from the server (and vice-versa)! Can you tell me what could've happened? I am desperated now! Please help me... No configurations were changed (both on Wingate and on the physical network)... I've also tried to upgrade the operational system to Windows XP on the client machines... Nothing works!

Please Help me!

Thanks in advice,

Guilherne

What happens if you stop the WinGate engine?! Can you then ping the server from the client machines?! Can you ping the servers own ip from itself normally?!

Also, while the WinGate engine is running, and you open IE on a client machine, do you see hits in the firewall tab of GateKeeper?! Are the clients using DHCP? HAve you tried installing 5.1 from scratch rather than as an upgrade?!

Regards
Neil

Actually, what I think is that I .... FORGOT TO RESTART WINDOWS 98 PCs, when they were on... and forgot TO DISABLE XP FIREWALL, when I upgraded them.... Sorry.
But there is still something that doesn't works: NAT. I have to do all the tricks manually using the FIREWALL PORT Manager... Can someone tell me how to do this exactly?
