Hallo Qbik Team,
got a simple but annoying problem with the rules of bandwidth control. I set up several rules to restrict the bandwidth for several PCs here in our network. The selection method is "first matching rule" and I do not allow Wingate to decide rule order, meaning if a PC recognize its IP address top down it will use this special rule. The last rule in this list is an IP range allowing full bandwidth. This works fine till I restart the Wingate service. After doing this Wingate "randomize" my list, as a consequence that several PCs will never reach the special rule concerning their IP addresses, 'cause they possibly reach the "full bandwidth" rule before their actual rule.
Is there a trick to avoid this problem? Or is it possible to fix this problem in a upcoming patch?
By the way, we are using Wingate 6.1.1 (Professional)
Thanks for any reply,
Michael

Did you click on Save button in Gatekeeper before restarting the engine?

One more thing - there is an "Allow Wingate to determinte rules order" checkbox - you didn't have it ticked, did you?

Hallo genie,
sorry for the late reply. Yes, I ticked the button "Allow Wingate to decide rule order" out. You was right that I forgot to click the "Save" button but unfortunatly the Save button do not save my list of rules. I think it has something to do with the creation order of the rules. I will test this as soon as I have time to, and create a new rule.

Can you export Wingate registry key and send it to me? I will try to reproduce this in our test lab.

Hallo genie,
I probably found out what the problem is. I have totaly 11 rules in my bandwidth control list. Wingate save this list resp. rules in the following format in the registry:
Rule1
Rule10
Rule11
Rule2
Rule3
...
Rule9
I recognized that rule 11 is the rule for full bandwidth and furthermore that the full bandwidth rule stands at position 3 after Wingate restarts. So I decided to swap the positions of rule9 and rule 11. After I'd restarted the service, the list showed up correctly.
Don't know if you can reproduce this issue by yourself or if you are still in need of my reg file. Please let me know.

Thanks for the information - we'll check the rules processing.
