WGIC connection creates Wingate-local traffic, so try checking "Apply for local machine" tickbox in the rules settings.

HELLO???? SUPPORT??????

Hi
When using the WGIC, all traffic between the client and the WinGate server happens over the same port numbers. This is because all TCP connections are redirected to a TCP connection redirector service that is part of the Winsock Redirector Service.
however, the connections made out to the servers on the internet obviously must be on the original port numbers requested by the client.
So the bandwidth rules will need to be applied to the traffic that goes between WinGate and the Internet, rather than WinGate and the client machines.

Thanks Adrien!
So if my clients connect by www proxy instead of WGIC will the bandwidth rules be applied?
how can i authenticate the clients without using WGIC?
sorry about my english...
thanks again...
Fabio.

Hi
You should be able to apply the bandwidth rules to WGIC traffic, but they just need to be set up so that they catch the traffic between WinGate and the Internet.
If you post some of the rules you are having trouble with to this forum we can have a look and see if there is any problem with the configuration.
To get normal proxy traffic authenticated (not using WGIC), you would need to set the policies for the WWW Proxy to require authentication, and choose which methods to use in the WWW Proxy configuration.

Adrien
