Checked Wingate to see what activity caused our internet to crash. Error message shown in Wingate Activity tab is "Undefined ENS memory problem". Can anyone shed any light on this. Have searched Google and Wingate but 0 results.
Thanks

What version of Wingate and what OS are you using?
Jun 07 06 9:51 pm
Version of Wingate is 6.1.1.
Version of Windows is 2000 Server SP4.
Notice that there is an update to 6.1.2 for Wingate which I have now applied.
Thanks

Is there any particular traffic pattern that causes this message to appear? Have you made any changes in the driver configuration lately?

No to both above questions. Have looked into whether there was a particular web site/type of web site users connecting to before lose Inet but seems to be the same sites we have always used. Have also looked to see if one particular user connecting just before loss but again no common factor here.
As far as driver updates are concerned the only updates applied recently have been the windows security updates and now the Wingate update from 6.1.1 to 6.1.2. No other obvious changes have been made.
Get an error on Event Log each time reboot this server :
The following boot-start or system-start driver failed to load:
SYMTDI
but engineers believe it is unrelated.
Thanks

Do you have any Norton firewall/intrustion detection system installed?
Jun 08 06 3:14 am
We have Symantec (Norton) Anti-Virus on local workstations but not on the Win 2K server.

Well, this SYMTDI driver missing error is a part of failed Symantec/Norton firewall package - have you ever installed it on the server? It might be the one that triggers this problem.

Have spoken to the engineers and apparently they had installed it on the server but removed it once they had the mdaemon licence. Do I assume there is a way of removing this cleanly? Thanks.

There might be some remnant drivers left which causes Wingate to misbehave - just make sure that non of the unknown/unexpected drivers are loaded.
