windows 2003 server rebooting

Jun 15 06 11:43 pm

I recently installed wingate on my new Dell machine with windows 2003 server but once restarted the windows does not boot up fully. It keeps on rebooting when it gets to the point of the windows 2003 server logo. I have to run the windows in safe mode, remove the winagte and then only the server boots up.

I hope someone can help me with this.

Make sure that there is no bridging configured on your network adapters. Also, if you send us a minidump file that Windows generates, we might be able to identify the problem.

It does not generate any dump file. It is probably because it is rebooting rather than crashing.

You can change this by modifying "My computer" properties, page Advanced, under the Startup and recovery section.

The dump file setting is on but apparently the error does not generate any dump file

Have you tried doing a search for *.dmp

What model of Dell Server do you have?

poweredge SC 430. I think I found out the problem but I still want to know the reason why.

I tried various things on the CMOS setup of the server and I realized that when I disabled the hyper threading for the process then the problem was solved.

Does wingate have any problems with the HT technology. Has there been any issues before?

Aye, I think we fixed this problem in the latest build - have you tried the latest release yet?
