Remote Desktop Web Connection

Jul 09 06 1:15 pm

Help - I'm having problems using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Web Connection. On my WinGate box, I have port 3389 open, and forwarding to my TS box (this is working just fine). I've opened up another port (8080) for Remote Desktop Web Connection (from what I gather, it needs to be on a different port from RDP). I'm able to connect to the TS box, and get the remote desktop web connection logon screen. But, when I type in the internal IP address of either one of my TS boxes, it doesn't load. Do I need to do something special since I'm trying to connect to an internal IP address?

Any help would be appreciated.

Confirm my interpretation.

Your WinGate box forwards 3389 and 8080 to a LAN Client running a web server and remote desktop. Both of those port maps work, because you can access the webpage, and also control the computer with remote desktop from the internet.

You have two other terminal servers on your network. When you type either of those ip addresses and correct port number into the Remote Desktop Connection webpage, the ActiveX Control cannot bring up a Windows Login Screen.

Question:
If you opened up Internet Explorer on the WinGate server, and went to your internal webpage that connects to terminal servers, can you access the interface as you would expect?

Thanks for your help, but I think I figured everything out.
