Clients timed out

Nov 25 03 7:25 am

Hi, I am using wingate 5.1 and my clients seems to get timed out from time to time, not always, but some times really often.
I mean that they can not navigate, check emails, and basically nothing... it is gets dead.
The solution (for me) is to open the wingate internet client applet, and then again i got internet.
I am using windows 2000 SP4, the other client with problems use Windows XP (no SP installed) and there is no windows 98 machine to test this proceduture.
Please help me with this issue, thanks!

I have the same problem.

Access works fine through the Internet Client but not through the NAT.

I am running 2003 server and Wingate 5.1.

It's really frustrating me. It was working fine through the NAT before wingate started having problems and I reinstalled it.

Tried reinstalling again and again.

Want to scream.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP

Are you using a dialer? Ensure that your timeout is not too short.
Also, check the session timeout for WRP service.
Try extending this out to several minutes.

Any improvement?

i have the same problem with www-proxy (no dialer, I use cable-modem). every client gets a proxy timeout at 80% of all request and it's slow !.
I disable the timeout combo, with no success.
it's frustrating !

pop3 and news still works fine.

thx

When you reinstalled just before the problem started did you upgrade to the latest version? Or did re-installing the same version over it stop the NAT from working?
