Unable to update Wingate 7.3.1.3535

Aug 12 13 7:17 pm

Hello!

I am trying to manually update WinGate v7.3.1.3535 but am not able to from the WinGate Server itself. I get this message:

"https://updates.qbik.com/serviceV2.php) SOAP 1.1 fault: SOAP-ENV:Client [no subcode]
An HTTP processing error occurred
Detail: The connection with the server was reset.
GerLastError: 12031"

I also tried to download Wingate 8 from the web, but am also not able to do so.

Please advice.

Thanks,
Alain

Hi

What error do you get when you try to just download it? It should just be a simple http download (from rackspace / akamai).

Is something upstream of WinGate blocking or disconnecting you?

Regards

Adrien

Hello, Adrien!

I get "The Connection was reset" page whenever I try to download it from the site. And the site itself seems not to load properly - no images, only texts, no formats.

Anyways, I've also emailed our local service provider. I am thinking that they might have [accidentally] blocked the sites (wingate & qbik). I will let you know as soon as I get their response.

Thank you very much & sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
Alain Garcia

Hi Alain

all CSS, JS and images for our site come off rackspace, which is a CDN that uses Akamai (as do our downloads).

So sounds like something is preventing access to that. Possibly DNS? There are a lot of CNAME aliases in the lookups for akamai servers.

Hello, Adrien!

Just want to inform you that my problem with the update is solved!

My service provider has tagged Wingate.com & qbik.com as "proxy sites" which are not allowed here in the Sultanate, hence they've blocked all access to the sites.

Anyways, after all the trouble and deliberation with our local provider, they have finally unblocked the sites and I have updated our Wingate to the latest version!

Just for your information.

Thanks!

Best regards,
Alain Garcia

Hi

thanks for that information. I hope they aren't blocking us because they think we are related to open proxies!!!
