I just tried upgrading to Wingate 8.0 and Kaspersky 8.0 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine.
As has happened before, the Wingate install froze on the "Setting Folder Permissions" dialog. After waiting several minutes, I x'd out of it, then rebooted.
Wingate 8.0 appeared to be installed correctly, but now none of the client machines on the network can connect.
So I then went back and reinstalled Wingate 7.3.1 which had been working perfectly. Unfortunately I don't have the self-install for Kaspersky 7.3.1, so I had to leave the new version as is.
Reboot again. No luck, no connection for clients.
So now I have Wingate 7.3.1 and Kaspersky 8.0 installed, and nothing works. The engine monitor claims that Wingate is up and running, but no client machines can connect.
Any ideas on how to proceed from here?

OK, never mind, I got it to work.
Had to uninstall Kaspersky, then reinstall 8.0 on top of itself, then reinstall Kaspersky to get things working.

Hi
Sorry you had these troubles.
We changed the installer to not set security permissions on folders for updates, so that step shouldn't have been happening. We did that since that folder can end up with a large number of files (esp if http cache in there).
In fact we also moved the default cache location out of Program files\WinGate also to Program Data.
