General Questions

Not to sure if this is the best place to post these question apologies if not.

A business I look after has a need to have a proxy server installed to limit and block access to the internet for specific addresses. It is a fairly flat network with 6 server and around 60 users. Most on a terminal server.

We currently use the domain controller as a dhcp server and dns server.
My first question is would we have to use wingate as the dhcp and dns server?

Second question is does the server have to have two network cards?

Last question can this be installed on a virtual machine.

Thanks in advance and help appreciated.

Hi Rad,

You do not have to use the WinGate DHCP or DNS service for your network, although depending on your setup you may need to install the DNS service.

WinGate does not require two Network Adapters to run, and can still NAT connections with one NIC.

Yes, WinGate runs well on a virtual machine.

Cheers,

Matt
