Unable to log-in into live.com/hotmail.com

Users are complaining that they can not use/log-in to http://www.live.com (login.live.com) to access their hotmail or outlook email accounts. I've tracked and monitored their connection on WinGate and all are labeled "connections established."

The issue is, once a user enters his/her accountname and password, the page just "circles" or tries to load. Then, after awhile it will prompt "Secure connection failed"

I tried with other public emails (i.e. mail.yahoo.com. mail.google.com...) and this sites connect/continue without problems.

I've attached screen shots for your perusal.

Hi

are you using SSL inspection in the http proxy?

Firefox has different requirements for this, since it doesn't use the windows certificate store.

You would need to install the signing certificate into firefox's root cert store.

How will I know if I'm using "SSL inspection in the http proxy?"

It does not matter if a user uses any of the web browsers (IE, mozilla, chrome, etc...) the issue is still the same.

Hi

if the browser is configured to use the proxy, and the proxy is configured to do SSL inspection (set on the "SSL Inspection") tab in the proxy.

If you're using SSL inspection, then the https URLs show up in WinGate Management, otherwise you just see the tunnel connection, e.g. http: CONNECT to xxxxx:443 - connection established

It seems my SSL Inspection was OFF from the start. But does this effect the ability to log in on live.com? And why is "live.com" the only site being affected?

Anyways, I tried turning it ON and OFF, but we still have the same issue.
