Thanks U again! Still Socks Proxy!

Nov 28 03 1:59 pm

Hello,sir

Thanks again for your attention!

But with wingate Socks Proxy, I tried another software named "Allegrosoft" , HAHA, It's rearly looks like Wingate :)

and the Socks Proxy server in Allegosoft was esay to use than Wingate I think: just setup a common socks server's username and password, or use user's username and password to authenticate, and many client surport socks proxy can authenticate and use the proxy easily.

So, I want to know: Does wingate surport the normal authenticate mode?
for I really like Wingate, I do want to use the socks proxy in wingate!

Thanks agian

WinGate does support RFC 1929, which is plaintext username and password authentication for SOCKS 5.

The problem has been that some client applications do not.

ICQ in particular.

Allegrosurf probably gets around this by always requesting authentication from the client whether it needs it or not.

We could do this also, but it causes other problems, albeit not serious.
