dns failure

I originally had a laptop setup with a sprint aircard connected to the internet and shared to a router that gave access to other routers and computers. Once I installed wingate 6.4.1. I cant access the internet on any workstation, I have the proxy settings in ie explorer for the workstations to point to the wingate server but thats as far as i get. The rest of the network still works fine just no internet access. Also i have the connections properly listed.

Any suggestions?

When you try connecting from a client machine, can you see this connection popping up in Gatekeeper?

1. If you are also using the optional connection method provided by the WinGate Internet Client, then the LAN Client will need to have a DNS server specified. You can test if it is a DNS issue by using ip addresses instead of domain names.

2. If you are using Public IP Addresses on your LAN, then you need to confirm that your network cards are correctly detected as Internal / External. For more information on this please see section two of the following knowledge base article.

3. If you have a Realtek 8029 network card installed on the WinGate server, then you need to apply a fix in the Advanced Options. An ipconfig/all 's description field will usually show the network card type if you believe that is the case.

4. Disable any security suite installed on the WinGate server for the sake of testing if you deem it safe; the Windows Firewall is best disabled in the Windows Services.
