LogFile Server Problems.

Currently evaluating WinGate and looking at the LogFile server - expecting it to give information on which users are browsing etc. If I browse to the default 8010 port of the WinGate server, after authenticating I see:

Service logs > Logs
User audits
Information > Info
Gatekeeper.exe

When I click on Logs, User audits or Info I receive a 403 forbidden error.

In the properties for LogFile Server, under Polocies, Everyone has Unrestricted rights - what is likely to be the cause of this?

I got a similar result and have asked QA to look into this.

To see an example of the WWW Proxy Server, use this URL:
http://127.0.0.1:8010/logs/WWW Proxy Server

We just completed our upgrade to Wingate 6.2 over the weekend and have encountered this problem, too. Any ideas Qbik?

Same here! Has anyone at Qbik looked at this problem yet? We really need this problem resolved. And what's with the recent flurry of porno spam in the forum? Nevertheless, thanks for the help and hope ya'll have a merry Christmas.

When you open the logfile server in your browser and click on the link System Logs, you get shown a folder called Logs. What you will need to do is add a backslash "/" to the end of the URL.

http://localhost:8010/Logs
becomes
http://localhost:8010/Logs/

http://localhost:8010/Logs/WWW Proxy Server
becomes
http://localhost:8010/Logs/WWW Proxy Server/

We are still looking into the cause of the problem, but that should get your logfiles working in the meantime.

Yes that gets us to the logs or audit files, but it seems there is no carriage return for each line of data, which does make it challenging to decipher :( If you view the HTML source code (in IE View,Source) things show up OK. Hopefully this will be fixed as well soon. Thanks.

Hi everyone... I am a new boy in the forum searching out for some thing..

I am trying to analyse the log file generated by wingate proxyserver, I was able to make out all the field in it expect for the data sent and recieved... sample log looks like this...

I was not able to make analysis, how is the access monitor analysing the same...

Hi,

That information in the logfiles refers to the amount of bytes sent to the client, recieved from the client, sent for the client, received for the client, and the amount of time taken to complete the request in seconds

So if I take one of your logfile entries for example.

12/14/06 18:35:01 144.16.78.52 Guest 0000000010 Requested:
12/14/06 18:35:02 144.16.78.52 Guest 0000000010 Traffic 4382 506 477 4376 1s

Sent to client: 4382 bytes
Received from client: 506 bytes
Sent for client: 477 bytes
Received for client: 4376 bytes
Time to complete: 1 second
