Firewall ports

The default allowed ports of 1024-4096...
Are they used for anything specific? Can I disable them and my clients will carry on as usual?

Hi

Actually we no longer open those by default.... since about version 6.0. You would see them if your installation was an upgrade of a previous version.

There are some things that require the range open, but if you're not using them, feel free to remove it - this is specifically FTP clients or servers running on the WinGate machine.

I installed 6.2.0 today on a new xppro install and they did have port 113 & 1024-4096 allowed for connections from the Internet.
