How to install/configure wingate v6.xx with Win2K3

Jan 21 07 5:33 pm

Hi,

How do I install/configure wingate 6.xx to the same machine as windows 2003/sp1 domain controller? Basically, I'm looking for a simple solution for SMB networks that doesn't need an additional server machine. I am looking to use this solution for a small network with less than 20 clients.

Thanks.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply. However, I've done this already before I post this question. My problem is the wingate server looks like its working by looking at the history view client can access the server as a guest for workgroup clients (DHCP enable). But for those clients that logs in to server and authenticated, they can not access the internet. I even tried to installed the client software for wingate and still doesn't solve the problem.

Also the firewall window doesn't show any activity when the guess client access the internet. It seems that the firewall is not working neither.

I have 2 nics connected to the sever as follows:

internal : 192.168.0.1
external : 10.10.1.2 -> connected to modem adsl
modem : 10.10.1.1

Before I install wingate, I have the same setup which rns fine for all clients whether as in workgroup or client/server domain setup. Everything works fine. windows NAT was obviuosly installed on this setup.

Please help. Any suggestion???

Thanks.
