From "activity pane" I can view activity of users logged on my wingate server but I'd like to view "my" acitvity. How can I view activity of wingate server. Is it possible?
My users have to authenticate to log on, I don't have to.
Thanks.

Hello,
From server machine you must point your browser to the WWW proxy service. If you use Internet Explorer, then in IE go to Tools, Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings uncheck Automatically detect settings and check Proxy server and enter either 127.0.0.1 port 80 or IP address of server and port 80. If you use IP of server, I would also enter an assumed entry for yourself in WinGate under Users tab in GateKeeper. That way you don't show up as a Guest. If you use 127.0.0.1 you will show up as Administrator because you have logged on to GateKeeper.

Thank you for the answer but it doesn't function.
I have done all you told me but nothing happened. I have Wingate vers 5.2.2 and windows 2000 professional installed on sever pc.
Jan 03 04 6:02 am
Hmmm... works for me. Did you try stopping and starting GateKeeper? What shows up in log files for WWW proxy. Are you listed there? Can you still browse? Does WWW policy allow you to use it?
Jan 03 04 12:30 pm
Sure, I have restarted wingatte after modifying and saved.
I have tried stopping the WWW service but nothing happened: I still can browse so I realized that my Internet Explorer doesn't pass through www service.
I see my connection in the activity pane but nothing else.
Thank you again! :)

Should I have WGIC installed on my server? What kind of authentication do I have to use?
Jan 04 04 6:44 am
No WGIC needed for server. You shouldn't need any authentication unless you want to secure your web browser. How are you showing up in the activity pane -is it username or machine name or both? Nothing for you showing up in History pane? Would it be possible for you to post WWW proxy and System policies configuration? In GateKeeper go to Options, Advanced, Save Report. Then open file and copy those two sections and paste them here. Try keeping GateKeeper on top while you browse and see if there is any activity then. In GateKeeper go to View, Always on top.
Jan 04 04 1:00 pm
In the activity pane I see the
server name
Win 2000 user name (Administrator)
-
(UserName - Authenticated[NTLM])
I have had my GateKeeper on top while browsing but I couldn't see any acitivity.
Here is the configuration file:

9.02 END OF CONFIGURATION REPORT
Jan 05 04 6:14 am
I can't see any thing in your WG configuration that should be causing any issues. I think it must be your browser not connecting through WWW Proxy as you said earlier. I use WG authentication not NT as you do but I wouldn't think that should be an issue. You still should see some activity if your browser is connecting through WWW proxy. What version of IE? What IP address did you use in Proxy setting in IE? In my case when WWW Proxy disabled I cannot connect.
Jan 06 04 12:37 am
I use IE SP1 6.0.28.
I notice that when i try to connect MSN thru socks (not directly) I can see this in activity pane.
If I stop WWW proxy server from WG nothing happen (I can browse).
I have also tried logging not as Administrator on WG server but it's the same.
Bye :)

Would it be possible to post / email a screenshot of:
Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connection -> LAN Settings
please ? Every application that you want to see activity for on the WinGate machine will have to be proxied through the WinGate server itself. This involves setting the IP of the appropriate proxy to the local machine. Otherwise, it will just connect directly.
