SMS Message under Wingate proxy service!!!

Jan 09 04 6:30 am

Dear All,

My users are accesing internet through Wingate & manual proxy settings have already been configured in their internet browsers.

Some of the users want to send SMS messages through internet browsers on mobile devices from the client end under Wingate 4.X. But due to some reasons they cannot. Can somebody help me out that what can be the problem or if their is any configuration requires in Wingate 4.x?

Hi there

Do you have the Firewall enabled?

You might have to check with the SMS documentation for setting up clients behind a proxy server, and what ports need to be opened in the firewall for this application to recieve messages from the Internet.

The best suggestion I can make would be to refer to the documentation for the appropriate device. It is possible that they might have specific ports which need to be mapped. This should be possible.

Alternatively, if you can supply the names (And perhaps a link to the appropriate website / documentation) I can have a read through and see if there is anything that might help.

You can use my mobile number in this cae because this company is based in Pakistan and is GSM provider. My number is xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi,

That website is a little bit sparse on information with regards to the ports it requires, and so on.

Two more questions then:

1. You say the webpage does not load. When I tried it it was tremendously slow, even over a DSL link. However, what error messages are you getting ?

2. When you say it asks for some ports - which ones ?
