hello,
is it posible that wingate (5.2.2 build892) start the internet-connetion (dial) without a internet request from ather pc's???
I want that my pc is everytime online (Flatrate)
The Internet dialing from network works, and everything else is fine...

You can use the Scheduler to schedule a dial.

yes, i know, but the shuedler dial's only one time every hour or i make 60 rules for every hour!?!
At an other Routing Software(Winroute) its posible to stay 24h online(Automatic redialing without internet trafic) and Winroute re-dial when your prowider disconnects you(after 24h).

Hi there
For a further suggestion you could:
As Pascal suggested you can schedule this once and then in the dial up connection properties in Gatekeeper uncheck the "Disconnect after .... seconds of inactivity" box.
This way even with no activity WinGate will stay on line unless the ISP dissconnects you of course.

I'm very surprised that it can not be a simple as it is in winroute.
It's called persistant connection. Whenever connection is down for any reason it will dialup until it connects again.
What you offered here is some sort of workaround to automatically dial every hour. But if line drops for a second and disconnects, users can be without internet connection up to one hour, right?
Is there any other way? Maybe third party software that keeps DSL,ADSL, Dialup connection alive persistant?

Wingate has an ability to automatically dial a connection if the dialup is down and there is traffic to be pushed through.

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand. How exactly can I set the WinGate to imediatelly dial it again and again, until connection is OK?
I don't have and client application installed on client machines and I don't use VPN. All I have is assumed users. And in this case, Wingate does not automatically dial a connection if the dialup is down and there is traffic to be pushed through. It's like if dial-up is down, there's no automatically dial up, even though there are requests from assumed users.
I hope this does make sense.

Wingate starts dialing when there is traffic to be sent - that is if your connections is dropped, Wingate will initiate dialing again as soon as the application, requiring network services, tries sending another packet.

Really?
So why doesn't it dial after I manually disconnect the dialup or pull phone line out of modem. When I plug back modem cable and ofcourse there are requests from assumed ussers, WinGate does not dial up.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi Dali,
1. If you have two network cards on the WinGate server and are using the NAT connection method, please check that the Internal card (Pointing towards your LAN) does not have a default gateway.
2. Below is an image of the Dialer configuration options.

This is also the feature I am trying to have them initiated. We need wingate to check whether there is really internet and when it doesn't it has to redial as simple as that to maintain an always on internet. I need this because I maintain a network of hundred computers and on weekends I am not in the office to manually redial if the line is dropped.

Are you using WinGate as your DNS server as well?
