Wingate is disabled after two hours needs a reboot

Jan 13 04 3:52 pm

to restart my internet connection. I am running the latest version of Wingate utilizing a cable connection. My server is a Windows Me Machine every 2 - 2 1/2 hours my wingate stops causing me to re-boot to get the system back on the net.

If I open gatekeeper and manually click Start Engine I receive a message New Interface found but the system won't enter the net until I do a reboot.

I am running a default config and didn't have this problem before installing the latestest version. Actually version 4.? worked just fine without a problem. If I stop the Gate and run our server on the net I never disconnect the minute the gate is running two hous then I need a re-boot. Will re-installing an earlier version fix this problem and if so where can I download one?

Does your public IP change every two hours ?

No, I don't believe so

Pascal, this is a client of mine who I have Wingate installed to connect their systems to the net. They were running 4.? without any incident I un-installed 4.? did a clean install of the latest version and now I get a disconnect every two hours or there abouts. Please give me some advise on what may be causing this dilema as it is the gate causing the disconnect. I talked them into this update so they had a firewall rather than purchase another product to do what the Wingate can. Now I look like an idiot for causing them all these problems.

If you can give me some suggestions to try it would be greatly appreciated. You may contact me by email if you like?

I personally use Wingate on our Network and I NEVER have a problem. Great product I installed and maintain approx 50 wingate machines all registered users.

If I stop the gate they stay connected. If I need to install a previous version please tell me which one will eliminate this problem ASAP as they are ready to remove the gate from their system.

Reason I'm asking if your IP changes is - you might be having it assigned by DHCP, similar to the people in this post:

Then a new driver will fix your problem.

New driver
