Wingate5.2.2 dead/frozzen ICMP activity

Jan 15 04 1:13 pm

hi.
in all versions higher then 5.0.2 i encounter dead/frozen ICMP connections in Activity window.
currently i'm using the newest 5.2.2 NAT only (no proxy or WGIC)
here is a sample
http://gfx.neostrada.pl/icmp.gif
the amount of connections is far far grater then seen on picture
all connections are made by RainbowSix-Raven Shield while scanning for active game servers, the ammout of pings per second is pretty high, maybe the new ENS cant coupe with such rate

1. wingate5.0.2 didn't have this problem
2. these frozen connections stay even after client computer is shutdown
3. but they can be manually terminated (but still that is not the point)

what is wrong with ENS after 5.0.2
got any clue what's causing this problem?

It is possible that the engine missed connection termination messages from the driver due to the high load - in that case even though the connection was terminated it would still be visible in GUI.

i haven't encountered any engine or system frezzes yet, but when i open wingate window it takes couple of seconds to display all connections

may this lead to any buffer overflows or major system slowdowns?

Nope - the connections that you see do not exist in the driver - they are - ghosts - however, they eat up engine memory and can be really annoying - we will fix this problem in a short while.
