I upgraded my wingate machine to XP Pro a few weeks ago. Since then, every time I restart my machine I get a WinGate system message indicating that WinGate has automatically been upgraded to use XP. Is there any way to make this message go way?
This is not a major problem, but is definitely a nuisance.
Thanks,
...Mike Ullman...
PS Posted this once, but never got a reply... so I'm giving it a try again.

This is probably due to a flag not being removed form the registry properly. So after stopping the WinGate engine, you should open regedit and go to:
\\HKLM\Software\Qbik Software\WinGate\Logging\Persisted
You can safely delete anything you find in here. Now the next time you reboot you shouldn't get that message.
As always, before you edit your registry make sure you have a back up copy just in case anything should go etc etc.

Neil,
Thanks for the fix! It worked just as you said.
