Transparent redirection does not work if WWW proxy changed

Jan 29 04 7:43 pm

Hi again,
As I want to run a web server at port 80 on the same machine Wingate is running, I changed the www proxy to port 8080. Now transparent redirection of http traffic to the proxy does not work for my Nat clients. If I change the port back to 80 it does work.

Am I missing something?

Cheers

That sounds as if it's not updating the port security action properly - I'll check the code to see what's happening there.

What you can do though is create a second WWW Proxy Service, switch it to port 8080 on creation and switch on T/R before clicking [OK]. You can then delete the original WWW Proxy Service. It's a bit of a cumbersome workaround, but it'll get you going.

Hi,
OK, I've just tried that but it did not solve the problem. If I change the newly created www proxy port back to 80, it does work???

Hi,

I'm not so familar with this. In case I meet this problem, I'll configure something With Wingate DNS service . After that In each Client Machine I'll point DNS and Gateway to my Wingate server.
