Wingate 6.xx and CACHE management

Postby GJ » Aug 07 04 12:18 pm

I installed the latest version of Wingate 6.xx and started using the CACHE with the PROXY by re-directing my NAT connections.
According to the help file all I have to do on the web browser to update the content is to select RELOAD. Well, the problem is that it keeps loading the same page from the CACHE, and the only way (that I know) to correct this is to set the update to 0/0 instead of the default of 2/60.
Is this a bug or what? By the way, I also tried entering the proxy settings in my browser with the same results.

HI

Yes, those settings mean basically "ignore the browser's request for a fresh version if the page is less than X days old". I guess we should change the default settings, this feature originated back in the old days where most people were on really slow links, and most websites were not dynamic.
