Java client authentication tick box missing

Postby Dr Krall » Aug 06 04 10:15 pm

Helo,
Uppgraded from 5.23 to 6. Also changed to Active directory user database.
Now i can't get authentication to work. The tick box is missing in general tab on the www proxy.
Still using old 5.23 keys.

What's wrong ?

Hi

Are you using a remote user database?

You need a version 6 pro or enterprise key for remote access, but access to a local machine should be fine.

Ah, sorry, totally missed the point.

the Java login doesn't work with an NT user database, since it relies on WinGate having access to the unencrypted password to verify, which WinGate doesn't get on the NT user database.

WinGate now supports other authentication methods, and if you have a WinGate 6.0 Pro or Enterprise key, you get access to NTLM authentication. If your client's browsers are Internet Explorer, then you can get automatic integrated authentication with their Windows user accounts.
