Wingate 5.2.3 & pcAnywhere 10x and 11

Postby sergioreales » Sep 01 04 8:14 pm

I have installed Wingate 5.2.3 on W2000 Server and the program and all services are working very well.
I'm going to install Symantec pcAnywhere v11, is there a guide "How to configure or set up Wingate and pcAnywhere"? or a link in the internet with this information.?
Could you explain me how to do it without any prejudice.?
I need to have total remote control over the server from anyplace using internet.
I don't wanna create a chaos inside the company or disconfigure any service.
Thanks for the useful help.

Hi

As far as I am aware, installing both on the same server is no problem, all you need to do is open some ports if you need to be able to access this from the Internet.

I believe these are TCP/5631 and UDP/5632

To open these go to GateKeeper, system tab, Extended Networking. Choose Port Security, and add a range for "Connections from the Internet" for TCP port 5631 allow, and UDP port 5632 allow.

If your PCAnywhere server is on another machine on your LAN and you want to be able to access it from the Internet, these "allow" port ranges can be changed to "redirect" and enter the IP of the machine on your LAN running the PCAnywhere server.
