okie im doing nat for two users and Port redirect for their DC++ programs so they can stay active.
im trying to limit the bandwitdh on ports - 61530 and 61531 , by :
1.Defining in the restrictions tab a rule "name1" with priority 1 and 12228kbits
2. Adding in the rules tab a rule with the restriction "name1" , check option "allow different restriction to be appplied for reverse traffic" , then i select source/destination tab to uncheck anyport and set the cells with value 61530 , check the option "Rule is bidirectional"
3. repeating step 2 for the 2nd user but changing port to 61531.
What am i doing wrong ??????... the bandwidth is still used at its peak level
thank you
(im using wingate 6.0.1 b995 with a trial license , is this the problem? )

Setting the traffic limit to 12228 kbit/s means allowing 1.5 Mbyte/sec - it is failry high volume. You probably need to lower the limit to 12 kbit/sec - which gives about 1.5 KByte/sec.

whatever i multiplied with 1024 instead of 8 sorry anyway ....something is not working if you kindly like to explain me in short steps what do i have to do to limit banwidth to an user behind nat (the limit now is 48kbits)

I would do the same thing except for checking the "Allow different rule" checkbox - in your situation its meaningless.
What protocols do your clients use? Are you sure that the port distribution is the one that you set up?

protocols used by DC++ tcp for p2p transfers - udp for search results anyway ill restrict access by source ip i guess it should work
thank you .

Make sure you set rule protocol to ANY - and let me know how it goes, please.
